Additional Profile Options (August 6, 2006) - Torment  Email Activation (August 5, 2006) - Torment There have been recent reports of people using fake email addresses to register, but more concerning is that a few trolls that we have IP and Email banned, have been using an IP Proxy and fake email address to register new email accounts. In efforts to work against such people, I have recently enabled email activation to make it that much harder for such people to register multiple accounts to trouble the community with. Hopefully they will not see the point, or not be willing to put in the effort to also register new emal accounts and activate new forum accounts, and thus stop trolling our forums. Warning System (August 4, 2006) - Torment Since I have now recieved a few PMs in regards to the warning bar I will update everyone on it. I recently enabled the ability for members to view their own warning level. Most of you will be at 0%. If you recieve a warning, your warning level will increase by 20%, and you will most likely recieve a PM in regards to what you are being warned about. Once your warning level has reached 100%, you will be banned. New Avatars Now Online (August 2, 2006) - Spartan Since Torment has started working with me on the day to day admin stuff, I have had time to work on some low priority things for the community such as doing custom avatars. Currently, I have uploaded over 100 avatars and I have plans to do a couple hundred more in the coming days. If you want to see them, or more to the point use them, you need to click on "My Controls", then under Personal Profile select "Edit Avatar Settings", and underneath the Pre-installed avatars section just select a gallery. New Ranks (July 31, 2006) - Torment New posting ranks have been instituted into the Dark Brotherhood forums. There are a total of thirty ranks that range from 0 posts to 50000 posts. It doesn't even have to have anything to do with TES. If I like what I see, I may even recuit you to the Writing team. WARNING: This forum will be heavily moderated. Constructive criticism is good. (June 9, 2006) - Spartan Brothers and sisters! The time of the dark calling is at hand! Soon we shall be blessed with the sounds of the night!!! Go to http://www.pirateradionetwork.com/ to get the media player and then install it. Then go to the station list and look under "Contemporary" and select Night Stream. If you dont want to down a player they have a java webplayer (but I do not think it is very good) link. Ventrilo Server (June 6, 2006) - Spartan Access to a new Ventrilo server was puchased because of too many reports of sound quality issues with the Team Speak sever that was previously set up. The server is now online and good to boot. The Ventrilo server is currently for Developement Team access only and is passworded. In the future the server will most likely become public with passworded developement channels as the public request for usage of the server arises; however, for the time being, the server is private. The Dark Watchman Has Entered the Sanctuary (June 3, 2006) - Atomic Frog Greetings Brothers and Sisters. I wanted to take a minute of your time to talk about the community here and some of the things you can expect to see in the immediate future. I also want to thank you all for the many PMs of greetings and warm welcomes. It’s obvious that we have a great group of people here. As this mod nears it’s first release, we expect to see the amount of traffic in the forums increase exponentially. That means a lot of new Brothers and Sisters will be joining us. As such, we want to build a strong community that people will want to be a part of. My job will be to encourage that by holding the people here accountable and when necessary, to enforce the rules of conduct. As I have said before, I do not intend to micromanage things and I feel confident that most of you will not force me to. I think you’ll find that I am pretty fair when it comes to managing this community as long as you all play by the rules. However, I answer directly to Kaleem and Spartan so if you feel as though I have mistreated you in some way, then you may contact them. From this point forward, I will serve as your first point of contact for all problems concerning the forums. This includes technical issues, disputes, harassment, and other things of that nature. The Mod team is extremely busy so I will be working to lighten their load in anyway possible. You may have noticed that I am a member of a new group called Watchers. Presently, I am the only member of this group, but in the coming weeks I will be hand picking a few people to work with me. If you think you might want to be a part of the Moderator team, you should know that there are certain qualities that I will be looking for. First of all good punctuation and spelling are mandatory. I’ll be the first to admit that I myself will slip up from time to time so I do not expect anyone to be perfect. But I do expect the effort. An easy way to improve the quality of your posts is to type them out first in a word processing program such as Microsoft Word and then cut and paste it into the forums. The quality of your posts are important as well, if I look in your post history and see that the last ten posts you made are one liners, you are probably not Watcher material. Finally, it’s important to be level headed and relatively mature. If you spend most of your time berating other people and starting arguments, you’ll probably have more serious issues to deal with anyway. And of course, if you’re thin skinned, you probably won’t last long. So in closing, I’m very excited to be a part of this community and I truly believe that this site is going to become a powerhouse of activity when this Mod goes live. I’ve had the privilege of testing some of the content already and I am completely blown away. We are indeed at the threshold of greatness my Brothers and Sisters, so hang on tight and let’s enjoy the ride. Voice Actors! (June 1, 2006) - Rubberchrist Brothers and Sisters, the time has come! We are going to need a few good voice actors for this mod. I am turning to you, the community, to help us in this endeavor so we have a more in-depth audio experience! Here is how this is going to work: You need to find a way to record your voice for us (I have a clip posted below with information). Record and save several (5-10) lines of dialogue in your best character voice. Files must be in ".Wav" or ".mp3" format. Name the files the same as your forum name, and number them. We will post the location of a file dump when we are ready to start auditioning voices. Once all the submissions are in, the Dev Team will find the voices we feel are the most appropriate for the characters that need voiced, and contact those in question. Once we have all our voice actors, we will distribute what scripts are neccesary so the actors can record their audio. You can find two excellent pieces of voice recording software here and here. Embrace yourself in the darkness that has been given by the Night Mother herself. Please, do not be scared, for her shadow hides you from harm. Some may question the Night Mother's will in such dark times for us, but know that she and Sithis are our guides for our destiny. You have heard rumors of many sanctuaries hidden around Cyrodiil, have you not? I'm sure you cannot wait to meet your other brothers and sisters. You must be excited to know that you will have new assignments from others. Know that the Cheydinhal Sanctuary was only but your first home. It was your first embrace to our family. But that time is from the past, the Dark Brotherhood will continue to inspire fear in those who deserve it. The Night Mother is still being prayed to each night for her taste for fresh souls never ends.
